Cirencester/agile working
Are you experienced in planning enforcement and ready to take the next step in your career?
Join our Planning Services team as a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer, based in the beautiful market town of Cirencester, right in the heart of the Cotswold District. As part of our 40-plus strong Development Management team, you’ll play a key role in protecting the district’s exceptional natural and built environment—National Landscape known for its rolling countryside, vibrant communities and historic market towns. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most sought-after planning locations in the country, where your work will make a visible and lasting impact.
In this senior role, you’ll manage your own varied caseload, investigate complex breaches of planning control, and lead on formal enforcement action, including appeals and prosecutions. You’ll provide expert advice to colleagues, members, businesses and the public, while supporting and mentoring other Planning Enforcement Officers as part of a collaborative, forward-thinking service. We’re looking for someone with substantial experience in planning enforcement—but we would also warmly welcome applicants ready to take the next step, such as experienced Planning Enforcement Officers with around three years’ experience who are ready to progress into a senior position.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where professional judgement, communication skills and resilience are essential. In return, we offer a competitive salary, professional development support, and the chance to grow your career while working in one of the most attractive and rewarding planning areas in the UK. If you’re passionate about safeguarding the character of the Cotswolds and want to be part of a supportive, ambitious team, we’d love to hear from you.
